About Us
The White Lion is situated in the centre of the South Wight village of Niton. South-West Wight is renowned for beautiful views of both the countryside and the Island’s most beautiful beaches.
The White Lion sits in the heart of the village with a modestly sized beer garden to relax and soak up the village’s quaint and friendly atmosphere.
There is plenty of on-site car parking. Niton is served by the Number 6 bus from Ventnor or Newport.

Sunday Roast
There’s nothing quite like a traditional Sunday roast, and at The White Lion, it’s one of the highlights of our week.
Join us every Sunday from 12pm – 8pm and settle in for a delicious, traditional British plated roast, lovingly prepared and served with all the trimmings.
The main event…
Take your pick from Pork, Beef, Gammon or Turkey, with our meats slow-cooked to create wonderfully tender, succulent and generously hand-carved slices for your plate.
We’re proud to serve 100% British meat, and wherever possible, our produce comes from our very own family farm, just a few minutes’ walk from the pub. It doesn’t get much more local than that!
All the trimmings…
Of course, no Sunday roast would be complete without the classics. Expect golden roast potatoes, crispy Yorkshire puddings, homemade gravy and a selection of seasonal vegetables, alongside delicious sides including our indulgent cauliflower cheese and traditional stuffing.
It’s everything you want from a proper Sunday roast – hearty, comforting and full of flavour.
Vegetarian or vegan?
Everyone is welcome at our Sunday table. If meat isn’t for you, our team will be happy to talk you through the vegetarian and vegan options available on the day, so you can enjoy a delicious Sunday lunch too.

Beer Garden
Keep the entire family entertained!
Our beer garden is not only the perfect place to enjoy an ice-cold beer or spot of lunch, but also has a child’s play area including climbing frame and slide.
We are extremely dog friendly and your little pals are welcomed inside and outside the pub, treats available for good doggos.
Accommodation
We boast 6 beautiful rooms including two large family rooms which can sleep up to four people, meaning all the family can stay together.
We have three double sized rooms and one single room.
All of our rooms are maintained to a high standard and you will provided everything you need including teas, coffees and welcome postcard.
Loyalty Scheme
Become a VIP and join our loyalty card scheme whereby one card can be used at all three of our locations: The Chequers Inn, The White Lion & The Birdham.
Points can be collected and redeemed at any of our pubs allowing our customers to try all our sites in the knowledge they’ll still be earning points!

Terms & Conditions:
You will receive 5 points for every £1 you spend. Please note loyalty account credit cannot exceed £100. Any amount over this will be void.
Our loyalty cards are non-transferable; points gained will be assigned to your account at time of purchase. Points cannot be exchanged for cash and can only be used for food & drink purchases, not for room bookings or voucher purchases. Purchases prior to card-holder status will not accrue points.
We are not responsible for the unauthorized use of loyalty cards. We ask customers notify us if information within the form changes or is incorrect either in person or by email.
Points cannot be redeemed in conjunction with any other offers or promotions unless specified otherwise.
We reserve the right to exclude certain product lines from the Loyalty Card scheme and to amend or withdraw cards plus void or reset the scheme at any time without any notification.
